DENOMINATION: IGT ROSSO TOSCANA
VARIETY: 50% Sangiovese, 30% Merlot, 20% Cabernet.
VINEYARD EXPOSURE: North-South, 170-185 meters above sea level in the municipality of Buonconvento (SI).
SOIL COMPOSITION: Mostly clay with a good presence of silt.
YIELD PER HECTARE: 30 – 35 quintals
HARVEST: Manual with selection of the bunch in the vineyard.
HARVEST PERIOD: Beginning of September for Merlot, end of September for Sangiovese, mid-October for Cabernet. VINIFICATION AND AGING: The freshly harvested grapes are de-stemmed and left to ferment in 30 and 50 hl stainless steel vats. Maceration of the grapes on the skins for about a month follows. This permanence varies according to the degree of ripeness of the grapes. Subsequently, the malolactic fermentation takes place in 2.25 hl French oak barriques, 80% of which are made of new wood. The refinement continues inside the same barriques for the time necessary for the right maturation, which is completed in concrete tanks. The permanence in the bottle before release is at least six months.
VIEW: Clear, ruby with violet reflections.
NOSE: Intense and persistent, with notes of red berry fruit and undergrowth.
TASTE: Enveloping and at the same time impressive, for a perfect balance between freshness and structure.
ALCOHOL CONTENT: About 13.5% vol.
BOTTLE: Bordolese 750 ml.
The CAP: Agglomerate.
RECOMMENDED GLASS: Ballon.
